Marvel Champions's is a premium content-rich, custom build* site with a rating of 3-3-3 focused on general inclusiveness through community and storylines ranging from team focused stories to epic sweeping sagas to personal character-driven plots, all of them interwinng to create a greater, more immersive whole. Here we weave together the epicness of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with that of the original source content of the Marvel Comics 616 universe using a method known as hyper-continuity, which means that as stories unfold, we will be sure to make the relevant information needed for participation in a storyline visible and accessible to all so that everyone can participate on a level playing field without feeling like they need to take a course in comics 101 as taught by the X-Men's resident big brain, Dr. Henry McCoy, the Beast.
We are an Alternative-Universe (AU), that beleives all characters are essentially original characters (OCs), even if they have been featured in some aspect of the Marvel universe, after all what were the X-Men or the Avengers back in 1963 if not original characters, right? We allow everything from humans to humanoids, aliens to synthetic, supernatural creatures and more, so long as they can fit within the context of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sene to it, they are welcomed here.**
As we are an alternative universe, we all for gender, race, and prefence swapping so long as it does not compromise the inherent quality of the character. Some aspects of the Marvel have been deemed unworkable such as the Fox's Deadpool films and FX's Legion. Others like the first two X-Men movies and the parts of the first season of Agents of S.Hi.E.L.D. have aspects we have draw on for inspiration but their continuities - we are the MCu (See the small letter "U" there? See what we did?)
We are a low word count, medium actiivty site. We require that each character makes at least two posts per week of 250 words per post counting towards their personal activity check. Our site goal is not to be the biggest site with the most characters, but to be the freindliest site with the most active members so that those who are here, can make friends and find adventure.
* We are still in our Alpha development phase, soon to begin our beta developement cycle, from which we will enter into our soft open. All are still welcome, but expect some bumps and glitches because we are a work in progress. Thank you for your understanding and patience, we appreciate you.

2015: It has been three years since UN Embassy bombing in Vienna resulting in the deaths of several delegates including then-king of Wakanda T'Chaka; The Sokovia Accords have since been ratified. The Avengers who refuse to sign the Accords have been forced into "retirement" or declared "Persons of Interest" and warrants have been issued for their arrests. And keepign with the Accords, any known super-powered persons exceeding category tl-7 (Threat Level Seven (TL7s)) have been re-classified as WMDs and relocated to restricted campus for their protection.
Nick Fury retains control of S.H.I.E.L.D. following his skill handling of the attempted Hydra uprising which was quietly contained within the hangers of the Tiskeleon. Tony Stark continues to fund the Avengers and has relocated them to a renovated Stark facility in upperstate New York, Natasha Romanoff has assumed the mantle of leadership of current Avenger operations. Together they have begun the work of making the world a safer place for all peoples of Earth as directed by the Accords; The primary duty of the Avengers, now known as the Innitiative, has become handling of RWMD (Resisitng Weapons of Mass Distruction(Metas)) to the Accords; The United States has begun discussions of a second, more specific national registration which would require a mandatory genetic screening within the first trimester with and manual complaince required of anyone not yet tested or entering the United States.
However, not everyone has agreement with these proceedings, most noteably Steve Rogers who retiring from the Avengers has since become a very vocal descenter and activist protesting the the Accords. There have been rumors that he leads a team of super-powered "activists" who run interference when possible to prevent families from being split up by the actions of the Accords and the Innitiative. This group has been covertly with an as yet unidentified sympathier within the initiative from various Wakandan Embassies and a network of numerous underground safehouses (provided by an unknown sympathizer to their cause) to identify and find super-powered humans before S.H.I.E.L.D./Initiative is able to too those found into "protective custody".
From the sidelines, various interests watch with growing concern from academics like Professor Charles Xavier and the reclusive Dr. Henry McCoy to respected scientists such as Dr. Moira MacTaggert and Dr. Karl Lycos, to industrialists such as Emma Frost and Dr. Boliar Trask, and rising political stars such as the alt-right populist Donald J. Trump & good Reverend William Stryker.
Meanwhile, Asgard has been established on Midguard (Earth) taking the place of the Norwegian village of Tønsberg in Norway, now renamed as New Asgard in homage to their ancestial home; The gods are once again walking the Earth and have begun the work of rebuilding thier great realm now here on Earth.

First and foremost, it is important to know that our character application process is different from other "premium" sites. Here, we have attempted to create a best-of-class character creation experience. We have purposely chosen to break from outdated practices of the late 90s embraced by other sites because "Everyone else is doing it'; We're not jumping off that bridge. Here, we considered the entire process with an eye towards the future and re-envisioned how a character can be created which minimizes the pain of creation when and where possible to allow you to spend more parts enjoying what's fun.

CHARACTER PROFILES: Broken up into multiple tabs, our character profiles can become quite robust, and for some quite intimidating. For those who are stressed by creating a character fear not we say. Our OMMMS is designed to help you through the process without you ever having to attempt to wrangle a single piece of "code". The OMMMS character creation tools breaks a character into several easy-to-fill out forms which will then render the data you provide into a detailed visual character application for all to see. OVERVIEW: Detailing the basics of the character as they might be found in a medical or personnel file. FLAWS: Here you will describe your characters negative traits and or disadvantages. Anything from poor fashion sense to being having a heart condition or being cursed should be listed here. MERITS: Here you will describe your characters positive traits and or advantages. Only those advantages which give you an actual demonstrateable edge someone should be detailed. POWERS: If your character has any superpowers, not to be confused with exceptional skills, they can be detailed here. We have developed some tools to help you with this so that listing will be uniformed and and fast to do. SKILLS: If your character has any unique or above average skills, anything ranging from olympic level gymnastics, to spell casting, to the amazing fudge baking prowse that can bring Galactus to his knees as weilded by Aunt May, it should be detailed here. EQUIPMENT:From cellphones to sophisticate time-travelling exoskeltons, this is the place to put it. If the character typically routinely carries a Casio Calculator from 1972 on their person, it should be listed here. If it's not here, it doesn't count in a combat or crisis situation without temporary staff sanctioning. RESOURCES:Does your character live in a swank bachelor pad with an open pit thermo nuclear reactor sitting in the basement? Do they have have a large cardboard box that they call home that only a billionaire with radiation posioning could be envious? Library card? Reserved parking spot? All of these things are examples of resources - things your character has access too, but doesn't actually typically carry on their person. CONTACTS: No matter how much of a loner your character might be, they will likely have a contact or too and this is the place to list them. And thanks to our OMMMS, theres a good change that at least a few of them will already be done for you! TIMELINE: The history of your character, it can be as detailed as you want it to be so long as it hits all the necessary beats. Birth, origin, etc. Note that certain parts of your character timeline will be automatically ammended into the overall site timeline such as their birth and origin. HANDLER: This portion of the character app is largely a no-brainer as the OMMMS pulls all the info directly from your user profile, so there is nothing for you to do, it's just there for the sake of simplicity and ease of use. |

THE OMMMs CHARACTER EDITOR: This is the very heart of our site, using this tool, you can create or edit a character and upload images. As you do this, the site creates and manages all of your claims and reserves related to that specific character without your ever having to attempt to manage any html or other types of code. BREAKING IT DOWN: Our editor is designed so the a you can work on a character application in small manageable bites, which are automatically saves as you go minimizing the risk of data loss. IT'S A FACT(IOD): The editor contains all necessary documention, tools, and factiods relating to each aspect of a character section so you aren't left wondering how to fill something out, or where to go looking to find the information necessary to complete a section. BLANK ON IT: Don't feel that you need to fill out ever section. Some characters are quite ordinary compared to the likes of Spider-Man and the Black Widow and that's ok. If you leave a section blank, it will not appear to the general public, only you and staff ever see any intentially blank sections, thus presenting a more professional, clean looking application that you can be proud of. And as time passes, your character may develop additional abilities and skills, if they do, you can always enter the character editor and add those additons to your character! REVIEW + SUBMIT: When you feel you're character is ready, click submit and your done. You don't need to post it in some special forum, or move it to some special place. The OMMMS will automatically handle all of that for you, sorting everything for you right down to managing the status of any related claims and even linking your character to other profiles that share common datapoints such as contacts, residences, or teams. |
OVERVIEW: Marvel Champions's is built on the notions of beinng transparent, respecting others, being fair and giving other the benefit of the doubt with the expectation that when this is done in a forthright manner, those involved will act in a welcoming, adult manner to create an environment where all are welcome who are will to bide by these ideals, and those who either won't, or can't, will be asked to go elsewhere until such time as they can abide by our rules and policies; We will never outright ban anyone, but we will suspend disrupters when needed.

The exceptions to the godmodding rule are AUTOING, and OVERBEARING. AUTOING is the act of moving a character along in a thread if the character has missed their response window by three days or more. OVERBEARING refers when on character's stats are twice that of the oppossing character. In such instances, if the OVERBEARER strikes a weaker character, and they have the stats to back it up, they can write in their response the base result of the overbeared action. This means if Thanos hits Aunt May, Thanos could write that she was knocked to the ground where she came to rest lifeless. Note that overbearing is not without it's drawbacks. If you attempt to overbear another character and it is found that you do not possesses the necessary stats/stat chain, you character will bear the brunt of the action attempted, in which case, Aunt May might very well knock Thanos to the floor lifeless.
If you feel that godmodding has taken place in a thread involving your character, please check with the handler of the character you believe to have godmodded first to discuss the issue and work out a resolve. If the preceived incident can not be worked out, then and only then should staff be involved. If godmodding is found to have happened, the offending handler will be issued a warning. If a handler incurs three infractions, they will be asked to leave for three months.
Marvel Champions is a MCU-based site, all events which have transpired within the Marvel Cinematic Universe up to the point of deversion are considered cannon. This includes Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, and other associated properities. For all intents an dpurposes, our point of departure form the main MCU timeline is considered to be midway through Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Generally speaking, canon characters are consider to set in stone in terms of any and all significant events which have happened within the MCU. We do allow for gender, race, and sexuality adjustments to characters where plausible justification is presented - we are an AU after all; Staff will make the final determining judgement call on all such matters.
Canon characters can have adjustments made to their powers and background so long as those adjustments are sympatico with the overall canon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel Champions site canon. As always, adjustments are subject to staff approval.
Marvel Champions requires all character to post a minimum of four times in a rolling 30 day period based on the character approval date. Prime and plot essential characters will be required to post a minimum of 6 times per 30 day rolling period.

Activity checks happen every thirty days and each check is based on the character's approval date, so a character approved on the tenth of of month will have an activity check run the tenth of each and every month going forward based on their approval date. An activity sweep happens ever 90 days on the last day of the month occuring. Sweeps look at characters overall activty checks and determine if characters are to be reassigned due to lack of activity. This is an automatic action which is run by the site systems based on character posting analytics.

Operating out of the Tamarind Island off the coast of British Columbia, Alpha Flight is Canada's premier team of meta-humans, which was organized under the auspices of the Canadian government's Department H. After ratifying the Sokovia Accords, the Canadian Parliament passed a registration act, the terms of which call for the conscription of all Canadian all super-powered individuals, including Mutants.
Alpha Flight is considered to be teh top level of a three-tiered Canadian training program; New recruits join Gamma Flight, those who prove fit for consideration continue on to Beta Flight, those deemed ultimately worthy are brought on to the Alpha team who are tasked with dealing with any threats to the nation considered to be beyond the normal scope.

The Avengers Initiative
Formed as counter-measure to extinction-level threats such as Ultron and Thanos, The Avengers Initiative, the brainchild of then acting S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury. He first approached Tony Stark with the idea, following Tony's defeat of Obadiah Stane and his subsequent public announcement that he was Iron Man. Fury kept his eye on several potential members, as Bruce Banner struggled with life as the Hulk, the Asgardian Thor appeared on Earth, and Steve Rogers, AKA World War II hero Captain America, was discovered alive decades after his apparent death. In the meantime, some of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s most skilled members, Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff), and Hawkeye1 (Clint Barton), were making a name for themselves and impressing Fury. Together, they saved not only Manhattan, but the world itself from the invading Chitauri spearhead on May 4th, 2012 in what has come to be known as The Battle of New York, the baptism by fire of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers.
Since then, the Avengers have relocated to North Bay in upper state New York*, where they have been joined by the Falcon, Quicksilver, who thanks to the good work of Doctor Cho's Cradle survived the wounds taken during the Sokovia Incident, the Scarlet Witch, War Machine, The Wasp, & The White Wolf, aka the Winter Soldier to name but a few.

The Avengers Initiative
Part of then acting S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury vision, The Avengers Initiative, a last resort response team to extinction-level events. The Champions, also known as the "Young Avengers", or the "Junior League", they will be the next generation of super-heroes in the Iniatives arsenal against global catastrophies.
They like Pizza, videogames, and may pause while saving the world to tag something, send a text, or take a selfie.
REAL HARD.
There is no shortage of heroes to answer the call when certain doom looms over the skies of New York. However, it is a select group of heroes who take up the cause of keep the cities streets safe, these people, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist stand as the defenders of the street. They are a quartet of singular heroes with one common goal - to keep New York City safe.
They like chinesis food and can sometimes be found late at night in the back of the main dinning room of the Royal Dragon Chinesis resturant (495 West 47th Street, Hell's Kitchen).
And the building has a fantastic foundation
Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic),
Ben Grimm (The Thing),
Susan Storm (The Invisible Girl),
and her brother,
Johnny Storm (The Human Torch),
were forever changed following what should have been a fatal exposure to cosmic radiation aboard one of S.W.O.R.D.'s expirmental orbital labs, which rather then killing them resulted in the quartet developing super human powers and abilities. They have vowed that they will together as a team and make the world a better place. They quickly became media sensations, and their celebrity status only grew as they explored the uncharted regions of the universe and confronted evil wherever they found it. Together, they are the MCu's premier first family, they are the Fantastic Four.
Recently they have taken over the lease of Stark Towers, renaming it the Baxter Building from which they operate the Future Foundation whose mission statement is to solve everything in an effort to make the world a better place for everyone.

The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division, is an American extra-governmental counter-terrorism and intelligence agency, tasked with maintaining both America's national and global security interests. Some times it means keeping one person safe, other times it means standing against an oncoming alien invasion which threatens the entirety of the planet.
Founded by Peggy Carter, Howard Stark, Chester Phillips towards the end of War War II, in the wake of the Allied victory over the Axis powers and HYDRA in World War II, S.H.I.E.L.D. was organized to protect the United States from all possible threats. With its advanced weapons and extraordinary agents, S.H.I.E.L.D. was maybe the greatest military power on Earth. Following his encounter with Captain Marvel, S.H.I.E.L.D. was run by Nick Fury and the World Security Council in the modern age, S.H.I.E.L.D. had to deal with the significant rise in enhanced individuals, dangerous advanced technology, and alien contact.
Strange new worlds await
The New York Sanctum is one of the three bases used by the ancient order of the Masters of the Mystic Arts, standing alongside the London and the Hong Kong Sanctums, they are the Earth's first line of defense against that which goes bump in the night really really loud. Doctor Strange and Wong are the current masters of the New York Sanctum.
Located at 177A Bleecker Street, New York City, NY 10012-1406, on the corner of Bleecker Street and Fenno Place in the heart of Greenwich Village. The sanctum's primary purpose is the storing, securing, and safeguarding mystic items, artifacts, and potentially cursed objects that might potentiall represent a great threat if they were to fall into the wrong hands such as the Dark Scepter, the Cauldron of the Cosmos, and the Cloak of Levitation.

The Sentient Weapon Observation and Response Division, better known by its acronym S.W.O.R.D., is an American extra-governmental intelligence agency which was birthed by S.H.I.E.L.D. Just as S.H.I.E.L.D. protects the the world primarily from threats from within, so to does S.W.O.R.D. who concentrate their efforts primarily on threats lurking in the cold dark of outerspace.

Following the ratification of the Sokovia Accords, America implimented the Superhuman Registration Act (SRA) which indirectly lead to the commuting of capture super-villains sentences in favor of joining a goverment-controlled meta-human task force which would be used to enforce the SRA and persuade them to join the pro-registration side as directed by the Commission on Superhuman Activities(CSR).
(And so do we.)
The Xavier Institute was founded by Professor Charles Francis Xavier with the encouragement of his college sweetheart, Dr. Moira MacTaggert, and help of then good friends Dr. Karl Lykos and Erik Lehnsherr. Together they transform professor's ancestorial mansion into a School for the gifted, later to be renamed the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. Following a few false starts and the departure of Lehnsherr now calling himself "Magneto', Xavier open his doors to his first class which consisted of Alex Summers, Calvin Rankin, Henry "Hank" McCoy, Kevin Sidney, Lorna Dane, Jean Grey, Robert "Bobby" Drake, Scot Summers, and Warren Worthington III, all of whom having graduated have chosen to continue on at institute in some capacity helping to shepherd the next generation of students through the Institute's hallowed halls.
The Institute, originally named Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, often referred to as the X-Mansion is an educational concern which has award countless "scholarships" to gifted "students" from around the world, bring them to the Institute where staff and instructors can teach and nurture each student in accordance with their special gifts, also, how to peacefully coexist with a world that is growingly increasingly fearful of them as a new burgeoning species. Located in Salem Center in Westchester County, New York, the X-Mansion is also the home and training site of the X-Men, the first team of X-Men consisted of Angel, Beast, Changling, Cyclops, Havok, Iceman, Polaris, and Marvel Girl now known as Psyche, all of whom dedicated themselves to Xavier's dream of peaceful co-existance.
Adding to there ranks is the recently &quo;graduated" second class of X-Men, also known as the Blue Team, they now assist with the day-to-day affairs of the institute. The are Wolverine, Thunderbird, Storm, Psylocke Nightcrawler, Colossus, Rogue, Gambit, and recently welcomed to the team is Alison Blaire, the Dazzeler whose professional career as an entertainer was cut short when when several youths died during one of her shows.
Following in the footsteps of the Blue and the Gold teams are some thirty plus students, mutants all of them, who have come seeking education and sanctuary from a harsh and judgemental world. The student body includes Alchemy, Moonstar & Wolfsbane
