X - You Don't Known Me, But.. (#TiD-62) unknown

SCENE SET »  The alleyway, much like the street it lead to was slick with recent fallen rain, a light fog clung to the chilled October ground, and huddled against a corner deep within the alleyway, a young man stood with a great scarf swaddled around his neck, and in his hands a baseball bat. He stood with his back pressed against the wall, prepared to strike as the sound of footfalls could be heard echoing from further with in the alleyway, they belong to at least two individuals who were approaching the main alleyway from an adjacent alley; The main alley was actually a small, narrow street used by service vehicles to which many actual alley ways connected.

In a few minutes, destiny would strike.

Ulysses » He stood, his back pressed tightly to the brick wall of corner, he stood out of view, baseball bat in hand poised to swing as the footfalls approached. As the began to close the corner, he struck with as might a swing as he could muster, the first man he hit low, connecting the bat just below his kneecap cause the man, a large hulking brute to drop and howl in pain. The second man, who was every inch the tower brute as the first turned to look at his companion - he was confused and caught by surprise, the swinger of the louisville bat wasted no time as he proceeded to hit the second man square in the jaw with the butt of the bat; The brute reeled backward from the unexpected slug to his chin which was immediately followed up by a swing directly to the back of his neck.

They were both down, not out, but they were seriously down and it would take them some moments to recover, everything was as planned. The young man pulled the scarf up slightly around his neck as he slowly walked up the alley way. When he reached the corner, he was sure to drop the bat but not before having walked sever yards from the entrance of the alley; Most strange.

He proceeded a good halfway down the block to a small independent coffee shop he'd never been to, but entered as if he were well acquainted with the establishment and went to stand in line. As he did so, he discarded his coat on what he obviously must have thought to be a chair at an empty table so as to reserve it. The table of course wasn't empty, it was occupied by several hundred pounds of Russian.

Colossus » Piotr had made his way through town to his favorite coffee shop. The mansion had been out of coffee and he made sure to pick up some on his way back. But he wanted coffee now. He made his way to his ship ordering a coffee and some doughnuts after waiting for his turn. He took a seat and started sipping. He was looking through a newspaper and looked up in surprise seeing someone drape a coat on a chair nearby.

He was about to say something until he saw a glimpse of the man walking into line and found himself grinning. He was handsome and he wouldn't mind sharing a table with him for awhile. The guy didn't even notice he was there so he probably wouldn't even speak to him. So he could admire him from afar while it lasted. He was still so shy about dates even the few blind dates his friends had set him up on and ended so awkwardly. Or they'd just remained friends. He reached for his coffee spilling some on his hand as he was grateful it wasn't burning anymore and cleaned up.

Ulysses » Ulysses took one slow small step forward, followed by another, and then another, and then a few more. Lines. Yeah. When he reached the front of the cue, he stated his order in a soft spoken, easy going manner, and not too quickly either which likely ear marked him as an out-of-towner. He was actually an out of stater to be honest. Once his order was placed, he tapped his phone against the automatic scan-pay and then turned to go and stand with the rest of the shops patrons as they patiently waited on their orders; When his came up, he reached for it, again, the language of his movements were slow and easy going; The entire time hed been in the line and waiting by the pickup area, hed been looking around the shop, specifically at the Russian by way of reflections in the windows and counter window displays. Russian appeared to be intrigued.

Life was good, on schedule, and going according to plan.

Colossus » Piotr finished cleaning up his spill. He took another sip of his coffee then grabbed his doughnut and took a bite. He licked his lips unaware the object of his crush was spying on him as well.

"Mmm. Delicious as always." said Piotr.

He glanced at the paper looking at the cartoons. It was one of the first things he looked in the cartoons. He liked starting his days off with laughter before looking at the news as it was often sad or bad news. He still didn't know why Garfield hated mondays and loved lasagnas so much. But it was still an entertaining cartoon.

Ulysses » With his back still to the Russian for the most part, the young man smiled to himself as he continued to spy raven haired male; Very handsome, but then he knew that well before he ever stepped foot into Salem Center. He pulled himself away from his voyeristic pleasure of looking at the Russians reflection, turning his eyes on the Russian himself as he navigated his way through the tight narrows of the coffeeshops floor, it was packed with tables and chairs half pushed in or fully occupied - still he made his way with nary a sound until he reached the chair where hed laid his coat, which of course was that of the broad shouldered Russian.

Once there, he let out a soft exclamation, Oh, oh sorry, I didnt realize someone else was sitting hair when I tossed my coat. He said as he moved his free hand down to reach for it. Ill find another spot to sit. Again, Im very sorry. He said, doing his very best to make prolonged eye contact with the Russians steely blues.

Colossus » Piotr grinned as the man joined him and nodded. He then shook his head as the other guy spoke to him.

"It's okay. There's plenty of room. You don't have to leave. Please stay." said Piotr.

He smiled at him setting his newspaper down not wanting to be rude as he folded it up. He held out his hand to him.

"Hello. I'm Piotr Rasputin. I haven't seen you here before. Have you come here recently? Or perhaps I just came earlier than normal today?" said Piotr.

Ulysses » The young man returned the Russians smile, then slowly turned so that he appeared to survey the room, to be taking in the crowd, looking for an available seat and found his options lacking; This of course was as he had anticipated, this was as he had intended, everything was going according to plan thus far; He taken his second step toward his long term goal, he had met Rasputin, and he had intrigued him. His face turned fully away from the Russian, he smiled inwardly.

The top of his head lilted, foreshadowing the direction his head would turn, his hair, soft, a deep chestnut, swayed as he returned his attention to the Russian. His eyes searched for the those of the Russians. He smiled as he continued to stand where he was. I appreciate your offer, but its that you came here for solitude before you begin you day. You have your coffee. Your paper. Donuts. Actually, you have a lot of donuts. He paused, his words came easy, spilling over the soft blush of his lips in a lite airy and genuinely friendly tone which had an echo of the awkward and the embarrassed; He didnt seem to be deterred by it, but he clearly was aware of it. He smiled. His eyes lowered as they darted away momentarily. I wouldnt want to intrude. This is your table, and I, Im afraid that I was perhaps a touch obtuse when I first arrived and attempted what I thought to be the last available table. I should go this is your, your small harbor before your day begins I would imagine, yes? Again he smiled as he continued to stand awkwardly before the Russian. And it is a pleasure to met you, Peter did you say? he slightly mispronounced the name he knew so well - so was the engineering for first moments, impressions, and meetings. Such was the way of begging footsteps.

Colossus » Piotr shook his head.

"It would be nice to have company for a change. I would like you to join me." said Piotr.

He blushed at the mention of a lot of doughnuts and smiled sheepishly.

"In russia there wasn't many of them and they were so expensive. But here you can get them so easily. They've become one of my favorite foods. You want one?"

He paused as the man kept saying he didn't want to intrude.

"You are not intruding. Please stay." said Piotr.

He began to walk away and misprounced his name.

"It's Piotr. I hope we could sit together. But if you don't stay I'll go and neither of us will have the table. As someone else will take it. But if you wish to eat alone I can still go and leave the tab le to you. I can eat at home. I don't want you to feel like you have to go." said Piotr.
